Ferrymans, the original Waterfront tavern, is a popular local spot for mediterranean food, tapas and daily live entertainment. This historical old locomotive shed has been carefully converted, preserving the quarried bluestone, the Oregon wooden beams and the solid teak pillars. These add to the atmosphere of the downstairs bar with its stone fireplace for winter – and for summer, there is the open beer garden. A wide range of local and international beers are available on tap. Highlights from the kitchen include South African specialties and fresh seafood, alongside a regular offering of grilled dishes, vegetarian options and classic mediterranean food. Upstairs is the charming 120-seater non-smoking area with exposed stone walls and large windows looking out over stunning views of Table Mountain, perfect for any function or event. Local bands play every evening, and for the sports fans all the big matches are played on big-screen TVs. Don’t forget kids eat free and there is also a play area for the little ones.
