9 Dec 2022 V&A CELEBRATES FOUR YEARS OF A SUSTAINABLE FESTIVE As the V&A Waterfront gears up for its traditional festive season, free of the restrictions of the past two years, it is once again partnering with local artists and crafters to present a visual spectacle of décor installations that will give visitors a warm African welcome. Joy from Africa to the World, now in its fourth year, continues to grow as a source of inspiration and a call to action for visitors and tenants alike to act responsibly and safeguard the environment. This year the call-to-action is built around the theme of nostalgia, reflecting a moment in time when the world is yearning for a return to happy, simpler times. Read more here. Fun things to do over the holidays We’re ready to surprise and delight all our visitors this festive season with a host of fun events and interactive activities spread across the neighbourhood from early December to mid-January 2023. The action takes place across the Victoria Wharf Shopping Centre, the Watershed, Makers Landing and the Silo District Visitors can look forward t creating memories with our festive Santa, food markets, musical entertainment, and more. The rest of the property continues to see positive numbers thanks to the recovery of international visitors and good weather. The rolling 12-month figure is slowly growing upwards and is currently at 20.4 million visits in comparison with the previous 12-month period which represents a 35.7% increase on the previous period. We are now seeing a 77.1% recovery when comparing to the last normal period rolling 12 months. This is the first festive period post covid where restrictions have been completely lifted and we look forward to a busy season with families taking part in all our planned activities for the holidays.
