Can life on Earth survive if our oceans are destroyed? Do young people have a future on Earth? Can we do anything to ensure we have a healthy ocean and a sustainable future?
SboNdaba Dance working in collaboration with eco-justice organisation, The Green Connection, expresses, through dance, the urgent need to address environmental issues that are affecting our oceans. The continuation of off-shore oil and gas drilling, Karpowerships, climate change and plastic pollution poses a great threat to marine life, small-scale fishing communities and the health of our communities as a whole.
“Our Oceans, Our Future!’, directed and choreographed by award-winning Artistic Director, Sbonakaliso Ndaba, weaves an eco-justice dance production to raise awareness about the threat to our oceans and to encourage people to stand up for their environmental rights and live more sustainably.
By calling for a stop to offshore oil and gas exploration in the ocean and emphasising the need for sustainable and renewable energy solutions, we can defend our oceans and life on this planet.
