For over 30 years, the V&A Waterfront has stood at the heart of Cape Town’s creative spirit — championing the arts through powerful platforms like Art in Public Places, Joy from Africa, Take the Stage, and of course, the High School Band Slam. These initiatives honour the raw talent, passion, and resilience that define South African creativity.
Now, Artist Alliance proudly steps onto the stage, turning up the volume and backing the bold sounds of the next generation.
Get ready to rock — this is Band Slam like you’ve never seen it before!Watch Cape Town’s top high school bands light up the V&A Amphitheatre as they battle it out for the R20,000 grand prize, the R5,000 Spirit Award, and ultimate bragging rights.
And that’s not all — our three finalists will go head-to-head at the grand finale on Friday, 16 May 2025, with a chance to win musical equipment worth R25,000 for their school, thanks to Bothners.
