We are thrilled to introduce Cape Town Children’s Choir, a vibrant ensemble of talented young singers from diverse backgrounds all over the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, united by their passion for music and their desire to make a positive impact on their community.
As Our repertoire encompasses a wide variety of styles and genres, catering to a range of interests. We sing pop songs, musical theatre and film features, folk songs, gospel, classical and sacred songs, spirituals, and vernacular songs in South African and other languages.
The choir was started in January 2020 as an independent project by Bronwen Leith (Choir Director), Anne Meyer (Co-trainer & accompanist) and Helen Stabrey (Choir Secretary). Penny Middelkoop joined us as accompanist in 2022. The choir operates under the auspices of Beau Soleil Music Centre. CTC Choir provides a safe and nurturing environment where children can develop their musical talents, build confidence, and foster essential life skills such as teamwork, discipline, and creativity. By supporting our choir, you are investing in the future of these young individuals and the community, they represent.
As we approach the prestigious 2025 INTERKULTUR African Asia Pacific Choir Games, we are faced with an urgent need for financial support to ensure our choir’s participation in this life-changing event. The Choir Games, held annually, is the world’s largest and most renowned international choir competition. This esteemed event brings together choirs from over 100 countries, providing a unique platform for cultural exchange, musical growth, and global recognition. By participating in the 2025 Choir Games, our choir will have the opportunity to:
Showcase their talents on a global stage, promoting South African culture and music. Learn from world-class conductors and choirs, enhancing their musical expertise. Develop valuable skills in performance, teamwork, and cultural exchange. Forge lasting connections with fellow young musicians from around the world.
Your contribution will directly impact the lives of our young choristers, enabling them to experience the transformative power of music education and international cultural exchange.
