CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA – Join Justice Desk Africa this Women’s Day at the V&AWaterfront, for an incredible performance and activation that will celebrate, challenge and encourage collaboration for a better future for women and the girl child!
On Women’s Day, 9 August, young girls and boys from various Justice Desk Africa anti-gender-based violence projects will be front and centre in a showcase at the V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre, to prove that real change requires everyone to show up, share their talents and lend their voices. The event seeks to celebrate women and girls, but also raise awareness to the issues they face in our country, and the importance of coming together to bring about change.
These young people will be providing the public with messages of hope during a performance at the V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre on Saturday 12th August 2023. They’ll be joined by award-winning conductor and composer Henry Cheng and the String Quartet members from the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, who will perform alongside the Mbokodo Girls Choir. The event hopes to show how together, music, art and justice can unite nations, build peace and create transformative movements. This collaboration is not only about raising awareness and much-needed funds, but also celebrating the incredible people who take a stand each day for their fellow humans.
