Siyakatala

Siyak`atala is Xhosa for “we do care”. All of the art and craft work at this stall is made by historically disadvantaged local crafts-people who would otherwise struggle to find a place to sell their work. The philosophy behind this project is to provide employment and to uplift local artists and to provide an opportunity for them to showcase their unique work. Among the items on sale are Zulu shields, coasters, keyrings and placemats, assorted African dolls, a selection of ethnic beadwork, African musical instruments, Christmas decorations, wooden carvings and wooden cutlery – all with a distinctly African theme.
