# V&A Waterfront

> The V&A Waterfront is a 123-hectare working harbour precinct in Cape Town, South Africa, at the foot of Table Mountain. It combines retail, dining, hotels, residential apartments, offices, museums and attractions across ten distinct districts, and is one of Africa's most visited destinations.

The V&A Waterfront sits on the site of the oldest working harbour in the Southern Hemisphere. Redevelopment began in 1988 and the precinct today spans over 500 retail stores, 80+ restaurants, 13 hotels, five museums, residential buildings, commercial office space, and year-round events and entertainment. It serves as the gateway to Robben Island and is home to international drawcards like the Two Oceans Aquarium, Zeitz MOCAA, and the Cape Wheel. It is organised into ten districts: Quays, Clock Tower, Dry Dock, Granger Bay, Marina, Portswood Ridge, Pierhead, Silo, Canal, and South Arm.
