In Cape Town, we are fortunate to have one of the most prolific upwelling systems off the South African coastline. This creates an ideal environment for an abundance of wildlife. A great example of this unique ecosystem can been seen in Table Bay.
Each tour starts with a trained guide explaining our upwelling system, as well as the phytoplankton blooms and their importance to the marine life they support. Ocean Adventurer aims to seek out examples of each facet of the off-shore ecosystem that is visible from the boat and the guides provide commentary and information on what is sighted and encountered while on the tour.

It allows for the minimum propulsion required to operate the boat, making it very fuel efficient and environmentally friendly with an approximate 70% fuel saving compared to traditional charter boats.
Through education and creating appreciation of the marine environment, Ocean Adventurer strives to encourage marine conservation and to instill a love of it in every person who steps onboard their vessel.
